Last Saturday we had a sensational number of year 5/6 pupils come to track to train for cross country. 112 children rocked up at 10:15am and coaches Elissa, Noah and Rachel put them through their paces. It was impressive to watch.
Their first XC race will be at Warwick Boys School on 29th November - link for details.
XC Results, Fixture 1
12th October - Walsall
Sunday, 12th October - West Midlands League, Race 1

WE ARE SO PROUD... of all those who raced, some for their first time, in the West Mids first fixture at Walsall Arboretum. All who finished did so with smiley faces, muddy shoes and a real sense of pride!

Athletes earn points for their place finish, which contributes to the overall team result. This fixture the Kenilworth Runners team finished 16th out of 24 clubs.

WELL DONE TO....
U11B Fabel Nash-Jones (9), Isaac Livingstone(41)
U11G Bo Flay (93), Phoebe H (98)
U13G Poppy Smith (95)
U13B Toby Price (27), Oliver Tyler (82)
U15B Freddie Baker (26), Zac Smith (35)
U17G Maya Green (23),
Thank you to all coaches and parents for supporting this. Let's get more running and help the KR team climb the leader board for the next fixture!!

WHAT HAPPENS AT
HALF TERM ?
At the October half term (27th & 29th) all members are welcome to train on both days at half term ( no booking required) but please note, we will have only a 6:30 PM start time. There is no 5.15pm session. Those who usually do 5.15pm are invited to the half term 6.30pm session.
Half Term:
Tots/Mini/Junior/U13: Training will last for 60 minutes.
Teens: Training will extend to 90 minutes.

After Half Term - Track Tots Stop
For our youngest athletes, be aware that Track Tots will not train from November through February. There’s no need to panic; we will pause subscriptions and hold your child's place for their return in the spring.
WINTER CONDITIONS
A Wet & Slippy Track

TEENS
Spikes ( running shoes) are really helpful when we are trainng in the winter. LAA coaches would like to encourage all teens to consider wearing them.
TOP TIP buy from the website Vinted!, it is much cheaper. Just search 'running spikes'. PLEASE select a size at least half ,or one full size bigger than your shoe size.
U13's (Year 6/7)
Whilst not essential, it does help the stronger and faster runners to perform better in the wet weather.
Juniors (Year 4/5)
We do not expect the juniors to wear spikes as their feet are small, soft bones and still growing a lot. We will adjust our sessions to accomodate this.
COLD NIGHTS come prepared.

Layers are A MUST for all ages, when training in the winter. It is easier to take kit off (and take it home), than it is to watch a young athlete with purple lips try to run round the track.
Bring Gloves. Cold hands can be a real distraction during training, so gloves are essential in colder weather. Evenif you are wearing shorts
NO SHORTS!
If the ambient temperature is below 4 degrees ( on BBC weather) athletes MUST WEAR long trousers, leggings , full length skins.
SEE YOU AT TRACK!
