SMOOTHIE NIGHT

To kick off the term, we're excited to introduce our teen 'Smoothie Night' on April 28th and 30th. This event promotes healthy nutrition after rigorous workouts. Studies have shown that athletes who exercise for over 60 minutes should consume simple sugars to aid recovery. We want to ensure our members can refuel deliciously.

All teens are invited to join us at 7:45 PM for an exciting evening. We will be whipping up a variety of refreshing smoothies featuring:

  • Fruits: Melon, banana, raspberries, strawberries, apple juice, and orange juice.

  • Milk: Choose from both dairy and oat milk.

NB: Please remember that we will have nuts in the clubhouse for smoothie preparation. If you have allergies, you must remain outside, but we can bring a smoothie out to you.

Special Guest: Brian Darby

Warwickshire Institute of Sport

On Wednesday, April 30th, we are thrilled to welcome Brian Darby, the Director of the Warwickshire Institute of Sport (WIS), to LAA.

Brian will share insights about the educational opportunities available for young athletes through his institute. He will then lead a sprint training session for selected teen athletes.

Summer Competitions

Our first team competition, the YDL meeting (1), takes place in Worcester on Saturday, May 3rd. We’re cheering on our athletes representing LAA in the U13 and U15 age groups. An email with full details will be sent to all their parents next week.

Additionally, the County Championships are happening on the weekend of May 10th and 11th. Registration has closed, but we proudly have 25 athletes from our club participating this year. To show our support, we will set up the LAA gazebo, providing a comfortable space for athletes to relax and store their kits during the event.
