Cerebral Palsy Athletics Day is back!

Athletics offers more than just physical activity. For individuals with cerebral palsy (CP), it can be a source of confidence, achievement, and community.
On May 17th, we are inviting young athletes and their families to a special event designed to unlock the potential of CP athletes. Whether you are new to track and field or eager to compete, this day promises support, learning, and fun in a welcoming environment.

Head Coach Rachel Berney and Her Vision
With years of coaching experience and a personal connection to cerebral palsy through her 33-year-old son Danny, Rachel understands the unique challenges and rewards of athletics for CP athletes. Danny has left hemiplegia and has found confidence and a sense of achievment through sport.
Her passion drives the event’s spirit: to encourage participation, foster friendships, and celebrate every achievement, big or small.
What to Expect on CP Athletics Day
The event runs from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Edmondscote Athletics Track in Leamington Spa. Participants aged 8 to 14 are invite to try different athletic events and maybe have ago in a frame or chair.
Try Athletics Day
This part of the day welcomes individuals with limited or no experience in track and field. Coaches specialised in disability athletics will deliver sessions tailored to each participant’s abilities.
Open Meeting Competition
For those ready to test their skills, Warwickshire County Athletics Association will host an open meeting for CP athletes. Events to be included are fro amuland and chair as a frame athletes.
