Meet Our New Welfare Officer

Grace Fairweather.

Grace was with LAA as a 10-year-old and now she has finished her degree in Sociology and seeking work in HR. She is still an active long jumper, having sat on her university athletics committee, where she worked hard to get more students engaged in track and field for the fitness, fun and friendships it brings.

Grace has written her first message to our club (see below) and she is keen to make herself available to support everyone in the LAA community. We welcome to the LAA Team Grace!

'Message From Grace'

It's completely normal to feel nervous as the new school year begins—many children and even parents experience those first-day jitters. Starting something new can bring a mix of excitement and butterflies, whether it’s meeting new teachers, making friends, or facing new academic challenges. Just know that you’re not alone in feeling this way. Those nerves are a natural response to change and can even help motivate you to do your best. Give yourself time to adjust and remember that those feelings usually ease up as you settle into your new routine. We’re cheering you on for a fabulous start to the new school year, and we can’t wait to see you all back at the track!

Here are some links that may help with the back-to-school nerves
