Well done to all athletes who challenged themselves to race in this season’s West Mids cross country league, especially after two years away. It was a season of mud ‘n’ glory and flying gazebos (windy!)

Whilst LAA never started out to be a cross country club it is gradually making its way into the league in only its 3rd year of taking part.
Individual Performances
Special mentions go to James Delahaye, who finished 5th across the whole season, out of 125 boys. And to Elle Wier who was 13th overall across the season out of 146 girls in her age group. These two runners showed great commitment pays dividends, as they both raced 4 of the 5 races gaining valuable points each time.
WELL DONE little ladies
Special team mention has to go to the West Mids U11 girls, who had a full team (5) in all but one of the races, making such a difference to the points scored that the team finished overall 8th, a record for LAA.
ISA National Finals 2022
Held in Worksop on 19th March, this challenging course had several LAA athletes
representing their schools. Elle Wier finished 13th and Annabel Waters finished an impressive 7th in her age group, with a real fight to the finish

As we turn to the summer for track & field events you don’t need to stop running. Why not take part in the St Nicholas Junior Parkrun every Sunday at 9am ….and it’s FREE!
Here are the Golding sisters, Daisy and Lola who came 1st & 2nd last week and were DELIGHTED!
Open to 4-14 year olds, this 2km course is perfect for energetic little people.
